“Joseph’s second dream in the book of Genesis has always been a mysterious vision that tugged at my imagination. The firmament and its grand assembly are large and fixed forces that do not bow to any law or command but Gods. How do stars bow? How does the sun and moon bow down before a man? Only in dreams can such a strange event occur. I set out to explore how a bowing heavenly body would appear and came away with a celestial event that defies cosmic ordinance by having the gentle descent of the firmament toward the horizon with the dawn and the dusk co-mingling as a perpetual twilight. It is only in dreams these defiant events and details can be fully realized, and through art they may be better understood as true manifest creativity.”
