A canvas collage assemblage divides the subject matter into asymmetrically aligned canvases to depict one superordinate image. The collage begins in an orderly alignment and rises upward into a disjointed or weightless composure following in line with the stages of transformation of subject. The total composition depicts the initial instance of creation and is divided between four stages; each emblematic of the four stages of alchemical transmutation. The blackness of nothing is risen out of to become the nebula of chaotic mists which then structures into raw solid forms of silver until finally becoming the pure light bringing essence of gold. God’s creation of Being is ‘Ex Nihilo’ (From Nothing) as it is in this composition.
